Sir,
This has reference to the ‘International Day for Biological diversity’ DE May 21, 2018.
At a time when there is tremendous pressure on natural resources due to increasing human population throughout the world, observing Biodiversity Day will assume greater significance in coming times. The concerned agencies should celebrate the day with sincerity and devotion to highlight the threat Biodiversity is facing today. There are many threats to biodiversity out of which five are most threatening: (i) Habitat loss (ii) climate change (iii) pollution (iv) Over exploitation (v) Invasive species. Climate change is posing a great threat to biodiversity throughout the globle. Efforts need to be made to check climate change. Today, no aspect of our life has remained unchanged due to pollution. Air, water and soil are becoming poisonous. day by day due to rampant use of pesticides and chemicals. The presence of vehicles and factories too are playing their worst part. As man has become greedy, it is exploiting natural resources without caring for ecology of the region.
There is urgent need to create awareness among masses in this regard so that this planet may not extinct for ever.
Yours etc…
