Biometric attendance

Sir,
With right, come duties also and in respect of Government employees, this is most important that they adhere to the office timings and reach office in time if not earlier and leave never before the usual timings. Very often attendance is manipulated in offices or taken in a casual way as if marking of attendance bore no importance apart from being in office in right time. The usual practice in Government of India undertakings like Banks, Insurance companies, Telephone and telecommunication undertakings, attendance is imperative to be marked in the morning, after reporting after lunch period of 30 minutes and while leaving in the evening after office hours. This practice, mandatory is seldom adhered to and right in the morning, the whole of columns in the muster roll are filled in and even late comings are never marked and rarely disallowed depending upon the strict enforcement of attendance discipline by the supervisory/officer staff.
To overcome this, biometric attendance is in vogue in all corporate houses and most of the secretariat wings of the Central Government which leaves little scope for manipulations in attendance marking. The Governor of the state has desired to introduce biometric system of marking of attendance in the state offices and steps are being taken in this direction. The move is public friendly and all appreciate it as it invigorates the system and enforces discipline besides ensuring “full work and full wages” rather than less work and full wages
Yours etc….
