JAMMU, Apr 11: Shree Vishwakarma Library, New Plot here today organised a function to celebrate the birth anniversary of social reformer Mahatma Jyotirao Phule.
The function was held under the chairmanship of Ramesh Angotra and OBC people from every nook and corner of Jammu participated in it and deliberated on the life history of Mahatma Phule and also garlanded his portrait.
Joginder Angotra said after realizing miserable condition of widows, Jyotiba founded an Ashram for young widows and advocated for widow remarriage. Balwant Kataria presented copies of Phule’s books to dignitaries present there.
Ramesh Angotra, Convener of the Library also spoke on the occasion.
Proceedings were conducted by Joginder Angotra, Incharge Shree Vishwakarma Library.
Notebooks were distributed to the participating students.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Pappu Virdhi, Divyansh Dhiman, Rattan Lal, Mahinder Lal and others.
