JAMMU, Jan 5: The ‘Janamhotsav’ of Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda was celebrated today at Yogoda Satsanga Dhyana Kendra, Jammu.
The function was attended by more than 500 devotees. On this auspicious occasion, a Prabhat Pheri was taken at Yogoda Satsang a Dhyana Kendra (YSDK), Jammu with chanting of devotional songs by the devotees. A meditation session of three hours was conducted at the Dhayana Kendra with cosmic chants and devotional songs for the guru preceptor.
Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda is considered as father of modern yoga who founded Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) in 1917 at Ranchi and his incredible literary master piece ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ introduced the truth-seekers all over the world to instrumentality of Kriya Yoga Meditation for God communion.
Presently, Yogoda Satsang Dhyana Kendra, Udheywala, Jammu is acting as nodal centre of Yogoda Satsang Society of India/Self Realization Fellowship, USA established by Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda ji to preach scientific techniques of God communion through Kriya Yoga.
Paramahansa Yogananda traversed around the globe professing the universality of Kriya Yoga to create spiritually harmonious lives and to contribute to a more compassionate and peaceful world. On the occasion, online content of meditation techniques & teachings of YSS/SRF were also released to the registered members.
Later, the function culminated with Guru Langer. Free registration forms were distributed to devotees keen to acquire membership of Yogoda Satsang Society of India.
