JAMMU, Feb 12: The 646th birthday of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj was celebrated with religious fervour and enthusiasm at Rajpura Mangotrian in Jammu in which devotees from various parts of Jammu participated.
Member Parliament from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma and former Jammu Mayor, Chander Mohan Sharma, were the special invitees to the function. They threw light on the life and teachings of Guru Ravi Dass Ji and said his teachings were even most relevant today. They said this great Saint showed the path of love, brotherhood and equality to the society. Both assured the community to work hard for the upliftment of weaker sections of the society.
Former Minister and senior BJP leader Sat Sharma, Surinder Choudhary- Corporator, Zorawar Singh from Team Jammu, Manmohan Singh former Corporator, Dev Raj Angral and others also spoke on the occasion and paid their obeisance to the great Saint. They referred to the teachings of Sant Ravi Dass Ji and asked people to follow the same.
Prominent among others present during the function included- Surinder Kakkar, Ganesh Dass, Ramesh Angurana, Bishan Dass, Bansi Lal, Vijay Kumar Thappa, Madan Lal, Mohinder Pal, Hans Raj, Ashwani Kumar, Dalip Thappa, Sohan Lal Rana and Ashok Langeh. Vote of thanks was presented by Mangal Dass Dogra, president of the Sabha Unit, Rajpura Mangotrian.
