JAMMU, Sept 17: With the arrest of four individuals, Police in Bishnah area here claimed to have cracked the murder case of a youth, who was killed on September 14.
Sunny Saansiya son of Baldev Raj of Kothey Bulanday, Chorli, Bishnah, was attacked with sharp-edged weapons and a pistol by some unidentified people on September 14 evening, at his residence. He succumbed to his injuries while he was being taken to the hospital the same evening.
Following the death of the youth, who was a drug peddler himself, his family members had been staging protests, demanding the arrest of the people involved in the murder.
Sharing the details about the arrest of the four people today, SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, disclosed that multiple teams, led by SP Headquarters Jammu, Ramnish Gupta, were formed to investigate the case.
He said, with the aid of technical evidence and human intelligence, these teams apprehended several suspects.
During intense interrogation, the police officer said, one suspect, Sukhdev Singh alias Makhan of Palli, Samba, confessed to committing this heinous crime.
“He also named other individuals who provided logistical support, concealed the vehicles, and weapons (tokas and pistol) used in the commission of the crime,” said SSP Jammu.
As the investigation proceeded, the stolen vehicle used in the crime was recovered from an irrigation canal, said the police officer, adding that the prime suspect also shared details about his accomplices gradually.
Following extensive raids, Chandan Kohli, the SSP Jammu, said that police teams successfully raided four individuals identified as Sukhdev Singh alias Makhan of Palli, Samba; Dushant Kumar of Palli, Samba; Sarpanch Yuvraj Singh of Arnia, Jammu, and Nasir Khan of Bishnah, Jammu.
As the investigation into the case is underway, police are expecting the arrest of two more individuals in the case, who are still at large.
Pertinently, the arrests were carried out by a team of Bishnah Police Station headed by Inspector Vikram Sharma, SHO Bishnah, under the direct supervision of Nikhil Gogna, SDPO RS Pura.
