JAMMU, Nov 9: BJP vice president Chander Parkash Ganga has accused the Congress of misleading the Sarpanchs & Panchs, PoJK refugees and border people by promising them sky but doing nothing on ground.
The party has taken public for a ride by making repeated promises of empowerment of Panchayats but has done noting concrete in this regard till date, Ganga along with State press secretary, Balbir Ram Rattan and State office secretary, Naresh Dogra told reporters here today.
The party leaders shed crocodile tears at the plight of the refugees, border people and Panchs and Sarpanchs, he said, adding that AICC vice president Rahul Gandi instead of making admission of party’s failure in implementation of 73 amendment should have directed his party MLAs in the State to get the amendment implemented by brining an appropriate piece of legislation in the Assembly.
Ganga said the recent announcement by Centre regarding grant of Rs 460 crore for Panchayats is nothing except an election stunt by Congress. Every time when elections come nearer the Congress leaders start misleading people by making false promises and later forget them all.
While referring to recent visit of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to border villages and expressing solidarity with these people by him, Ganga said Mr Azad is a Minister at Centre and has remained Chief Minister in the State besides holding important ministries at Centre previously but what he has done practically for the welfare of these people.
