JAMMU, Nov 19: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will act tough against the dissidents in case they fail to retire from the poll fray and maintain discipline in the Party.
This was made clear in BJP’s high level meeting here, today which was chaired by party national president and its election strategist, Amit Shah.
Mr Shah soon after his arrival from Union Capital this afternoon convened a meeting of senior Party functionaries at Hari Niwas Palace and reviewed the Party’s strategy for Assembly elections.
The meeting among others was attended by Union Health Minister and BJP national general secretary, J P Nadda, Minister in PMO and chairman State Election Campaign Committee, Dr Jitendra Singh, national general secretary (Org), Ram Lal, national general secretary, Ram Madhav, BJP state president and MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma, Party incharge for the State and MP Avinash Rai Khanna, BJP incharge J&K, R P Singh, State general secretary (Org), Ashok Kaul, BJP Legislative Party leader, Ashok Khajuria, MLAs Bharat Bushan and Prof. Garu Ram.
According to Party sources, Mr Nadda asked the BJP leadership to tackle the issue of dissent in the party at State level and act tough against them in case they fail to toe party line and withdraw from the poll fray.
The meeting observed that BJP being a disciplined party can’t tolerate indiscipline and in case the dissidents fail to toe the party line of action they should be shown the door. The meeting also reviewed the arrangements made for PM’s November 22 rally at Kishtwar.
Later, Mr Shah also chaired a joint meeting of Election Committee and Election Management Committee at Hotel Ashoka which besides the senior party leaders was attended by the members of the two committees.
Mr Shah in his address gave some hard cores of booth management and informed the Partymen that they shouldn’t be be complacent. He made it clear that if there is complacency the dividends would not be achieved.
The BJP president called for proactive and professional approach of booth management and asked Partymen to launch the campaigning vigorously in every nook and corner of the State to accomplish the Mission 44+.
He asked them to reach to the people and take full advantage of their positive mood towards BJP and policies and programmes of Narendra Modi led Government at Delhi. He also urged the Partymen to redouble their efforts and ensure BJP will form its first ever Government in the State.
During the meeting former Minister, Govind Ram Sharma and his son, Sunil Sharma joined BJP. They were taken into Party fold by Mr Shah.
Later Mr Shah held a meeting with the prominent people and members of trading community of Jammu in Hotel Hari Niwas.
It may be recalled that Mr Shah will leave for Ramban in the morning to address poll rallies at Ramban and Banihal. He will return to Union Capital in the evening.
