JAMMU, Sept 30: A deputation of BJP All Cells J&K led by Rakesh Mahajan, in charge All Cell today met Vice Chairman, JDA and highlighted various issues which the people especially the business class were confronting. The BJP leader raised the issue of dilapidated condition of Transport Nagar. Ved Sharma, Co Incharge All Cells; Sham Langar, convener Trade and Industries; convener, Sainik Cell; Mukherjee Sharma, convener Education and Employees Cell, Shiv Dev Singh, convener, Panchayati Raj Cell and Balwant Singh, co convener were also present.
They said that decades ago, when this land was developed to facilitate transporters and the business class, no one would have thought that after nearly 50 years of its inception the place will not serve the purpose for which it was envisaged and a lot of promises were made. He demanded immediate action on the issue and provision of all the basic facilities including the security as thefts have become a norm in the Narwal area.
He demanded providing free parking facility to the people for the first ten minutes at all the parking slots developed in the city of temples and on outskirts.
The BJP leader also dwelled on the issue of freehold rights to stakeholders in Trikuta Nagar.
VC JDA informed that tender for works in Transport Nagar has been approved and very soon the work will be started. “As far as issue of charging fee for first ten minutes of parking of vehicles is concerned, a mechanism for auto charging of parking fees on the lines of Fastags in the newly created parking at Bus Stand is under consideration and soon things will come out in favour of people of Jammu”, the VC assured.
On the issue of freehold rights to Trikuta Nagar stakeholders, VC assured that soon an awareness campaign will be launched to ensure that all the stakeholders will be informed well in time about this facility.
