JAMMU, Sept 13: On the eve of 23rd martyr day of Tikka Lal Taploo, rich tributes were paid to him and all those nationalists who fell to the bullets of terrorists in two separate programmes at BJP headquarters and at Suriya Bhawan here today.
The programme at BJP office was organized by Party’s Migrant Cell under its President Bharat Bhushan Koul while the programme at Suriya Bhawan Paloura was organised by Amarbalidan Trust.
BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, All State Kashmir Pandit Conference (ASKPC) President & BJP senior leader Hira Lal Chatta, BJP National Executive Member & Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh, BJP Cells State Convenor Chander Mohan Sharma and dozens of other prominent political, social and religious figures garlanded the portrait of Tikka Lal Taploo and paid their floral tributes to him.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said that Tikka Lal Taploo was a great patriot who worked throughout his life for strengthening the nationalist forces in the state and sacrificed his life while fighting against the separatist tendencies in the Valley.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, said that Tikka Lal Taploo was a man of strong conviction with a golden heart and therefore the assassins who killed him must have also repented for having committed this sin.
Chander Mohan Sharma said that Tikka Lal Taploo, during his life line had put civil resistence against separatistic and destructive politics and with his martyrdom, he produced number of Tikka Lal Taploo type fighters against ideology of separatism. State Secretary Shilpi Verma presented a patriotic poem in praise of martyrs.
ASKPC President Hira Lal Chatta said that Tikka Lal was a man of strong will and commitment.
BJP Migrant Cell State Convenor Bharat Bhushan Bhat Gosani also presented a brief of the nationalist ideology of Mr Taploo.
During the programme of Amarbalidan Trust, Dr Jitendra Singh was the chief guest while Swami Kumar Ji, Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb (Bhaijee), senior BJP leader Daya Krishan Kotwal were the guests of honour.
The programme was presided over by H L Chatta and convener Panun Kashmir Dr Agnishekhar and president PK Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo were also present.
On the occasion Tikka Lal Taploo awards were given to veteran KP leaders Pt. AmarnathVaishnavi, Makhan Lal Aima and martyr Prathvi Nath Koul posthumously.
ETV Correspondent Sammer Bhat was also conferred with this award for his meritorious services on the occasion.
The speakers paid rich tributes to Mr Taploo and other martyrs of the State who laid down their lives for the national cause. Hari Kirtan Satsang Mandli presented Bhajans on the occasion and a special number of Martand dedicated to A N Vaishnavi was released.
