Total internal democracy in our party: Kavinder

JAMMU, Aug 3: “It is the result of deeply embedded internal democracy in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that any ordinary person can rise to the highest post in the world’s largest democracy. The appointment of Droupadi Murmu as the President of India or even our Prime Minister, Narendra Modi having reached the most significant office of governance bears testimony to the fact that BJP follows democracy in true letter and spirit even within the party.”
This was observed by the senior BJP leader and former Dy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta while addressing a Mahila Morcha Training Camp (Mahila Morcha Zila Prashikshan Shivir) of district Jammu today.
Kavinder said that it is the beauty of the Indian democracy that Droupadi Murmu who began her journey as an ordinary employee followed by becoming a Councillor finally rose to the position of the Constitutional head of the nation. Similarly Narendra Modi rose from an ordinary Chai Walla to the post of Prime Minister of India. He said that inspired by these two great personalities and the internal democracy in BJP every grassroots level worker or activist can make it to the highest offices of the nation by traversing the journey with due diligence and relentless efforts in the service of the common people of the nation.
Speaking on the occasion BJP National Executive Member and former Minister, Priya Sethi said “Women empowerment is crucial to India’s growth. Days of seeing women as ‘home makers’ have gone, we have to see women as nation builders, this what our great PM said in years 2014 and today it is coming truly correct that Modi led Central Government is very serious about women empowerment in all sectors”.
“Modi Government has taken several steps in a row to empower the women with the most significant one by paving way to elect the first Tribal President, Droupadi Murmu hailing from a remote district of Odisha State”.
The programme was organized by BJP Mahila Morcha, district president, Savita Ji and district president Jammu, Vinay Gupta was also present on the occasion.
The former Minister said that every Indian especially the women folk is filled with pride and joy after getting the first Tribal woman as their President. She said that the BJP Government has shown the world that Indian women can do wonders if given opportunities and required support.
The senior BJP leader said besides, the BJP Government has also given the country, the first woman Defence Minister, first woman Finance Minister and also first woman Foreign Minister.
