KATHUA, May 1: Expres-sing his anguish over mounting problems of the residents of Kandi belts of Hiranagar , Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) and senior leader of the Congress, Thakur Balbir Singh, today said during the last two years PDP-BJP coalition regime has done nothing to solve basic problems of the people.
Instead of solving peoples’ problems, leaders of coalition are over-burdened with solving their own internal conflicts and bickering. He said that two year period of PDP-BJP regime is marked by conflict and fissures.
Addressing series of public meetings in Kandi areas of Hiranagar, which are parts of Hiranagar and Billawar Assembly constituencies, Thakur Balbir Singh observed that day today problems of the people are compounding with every passing day and leaders of both the coalition partners are brazenly indulged into legalizing corruption and nepotism.
Lambasting coalition parties in general and BJP in particular, Balbir Singh said that this party has betrayed people of Jammu region as nothing has been done to solve their day today problems. BJP has failed on all fronts to provide an honest, accountable, efficient and clean administration in the State. The MLC said that legalizing corruption was the only noticeable achievement of this regime as this Government has failed to keep a check on corruption in the administration.
Pointing towards recent exposure of corruption cases in the State, he said that the State Government was neck deep in corruption from top to bottom and ministers and other leaders of ruling parties were indulged in accumulating huge wealth by misusing their position.
“Most of the announcements made by the Government to ensure supply of adequate water remains only on papers” he said while pointing towards acute scarcity of potable water in Kandi areas of Kathua district.
Former MLA Hiranagar Girdhari Lal Chalotra, PCC secretary Pankaj Dogra and others also spoke in the meetings.
