JAMMU, Sept 26: To register its protest against the security lapses, Fidayeen attacks at Hiranagar and Samba today in which 10 people including 8 Army and police personnel, besides two innocent persons were killed, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has given a Jammu bandh call for tomorrow.
The decision to this effect was taken in a Party meeting earlier in the day, BJP State president, Jugal Kishore Sharma told reporters later.
Mr Sharma made an appeal to Bar Association, members of business community, traders, industry, education institutions and transporters to extend full support to tomorrow’s Jammu bandh and make it a total success so that a clear message goes all around that the people are not going to tolerate the Union Government’s soft approach towards terrorism.
The Jammu bandh was supported by various other organizations. The ABVP national vice president, Dr Narinder Singh, Shiv Sena Hindustan led by Rajesh Kesri, Rashtriya Shiv Sena (RSS), general secretary, Vikas Deewan, AMCCC president, Desh Rattan and its general secretary, KV BJP Migrant Cell convener, Bharat Bushan Gosani and Party Muslim Morcha State president, Mushtaq Noorabadi have also extended full support to banch call.
BJP and VHP units of Udhampur also extended full support to tomorrow’s Jammu bandh and appealed people to observe a total bandh on the call of the Party.
Meanwhile, the work remained affected in State High Court’s Jammu Wing as well as Subordinate courts at Janipur after the J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu suspended the work today against the militant attack on Army Camp and Police Station.
The J&K Bar Association, Jammu in a meeting here, today held under the Chairmanship M K Bhardwaj decided that its work will remain suspended tomorrow also and Bar Association will hold protest demonstrations. An appeal to the entire Bar Associations of Jammu region to support its call for protest demonstrations and abstain from work in their respective Courts was also made.
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also supported tomorrow’s bandh call and appealed the traders and other business community members to observe a total bandh tomorrow in protest against the two Fidayeen attacks at Samba and Hiranagar and killing of innocent people, Army and police personnel.

Hindustan Shiv Sena and Jammu West Assembly Movement has also appealed the people to observe a complete bandh tomorrow in protest against the Fidyeen attacks today. This was stated in the separate statements HSS president, Dimpy Kohli, its general secretary, G I Singh and Jammu West Assembly Movement, president, Sunil Dimple today.
Jammu and Kashmir peoples Front has also extended full support to tomorrow’s Jammu bandh.
