SRINAGAR, Oct 4: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Incharge for Dooru-Verinag Municipal Committee today withdrew his nomination for the upcoming Municipal polls.
Ghulam Hassan Bhat, who was Incharge of Dooru-Verinag area of the BJP said that he had withdrawn and also given up his basic membership of the party.
A resident of Dooru town, Bhat joined the BJP soon after his retirement as a Range officer few years back. He blamed the party for deceiving people.
He said that the other candidates of the party have also withdrawn their nominations. However, officially there was no confirmation of Bhat and BJP candidates withdrawing nominations.
Sources said that Bhat received death threats from militants and announced withdrawal of nomination.
