JAMMU, Dec 25: An impressive function was held at BJP Headquarters here today to celebrate the 90th birthday of the former Prime Minister and veteran BJP leader, Atal Behari Vajpayee.
The birthday was celebrated as Sushasan Diwas all over the country. Apart from State president & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, senior Party leaders Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Ashok Khajuria, Prof. Hari Om, district president, Subash Jandial and State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul the function amongst others also attended by newly elected MLAs-Sat Sharma (C.A), Rajesh Gupta, Kavinder Gupta, Sham Choudhary, Shakti Parihar, Lal Singh, R.S Pathania.
Jugal Kishore Sharma, in his address, said that Atalji’s tenure as Prime Minister of the country was marked as that of stable, progressive, competent and strong administration. Atalji went out of his way to develop good neighbourly relationship with Pakistan by taking bus to Lahore but Pakistan backstabbed in Kargil to derail the peace process.
He said Mr Vajpayee had initiated policies for the social upliftment and integration of the entire country by executing quadrilateral national road project. The country had achieved maximum growth rate during this period.
Prof. Hari Om, in his keynote address, said that celebrating Atalji’s birthday as Sushasan Diwas is to emphasize the importance of able and competent administration by Modi’s Government. He said that good administration is the corner stone of BJP’s governance without any consideration of caste, creed, race or region. The BJP Government is committed for “Sab ka Saath, Sab ka Vikas” and this is going to be the signature mark of it in future, he added.

The BJP IT Cell celebrated birthday of Mr Vajpayee under the patronage of IT Cell State Convener Jaidev Rajwal, at IT Communication Center, Rehari Chungi here.
The participants prayed for long life and well being of Atal Behari Vajpayee Ji.
Jaidev Rajwal offered his heartiest greetings to Mr Vajpayee and highlighted his contribution towards the party and the nation and also recalled how Mr Vajpayee strived all through his political career for ethics, morality, patriotism and character in public life.
Later on, the IT Cell team also visited the Home for the Aged and Infirm, Amphalla and presented fruits and sweets to the inmates of the Home to seek their blessings for the health and longevity for Mr Vajpayee.
An impressive function was held at Paloura to celebrate the birthday of Mr Vajpayee. The function was organized by Paloura Welfare Committee under the leadership of its chairman Balbir Singh Manhas.
The speakers paid rich tributes to Mr Vajpayee and recalled his services to nation. They termed Mr Vajpayee as a best orator, statesman who never compromised with his principals for political gains in life. They said Vajpayee deserves full credit in giving a befitting reply to Pakistan in Kargil war and for Pokhran blast.
Those who paid tributes to Mr Vajpayee included Er Vijay Sharma, a social activist, R K Sharma general secretary of the Committee, Mandal president BJP Hans Raj Manhas and Bahadur Singh Manhas. They also paid tributes to Madan Mohan Malviya a veteran freedom fighter who was awarded Bharat Ratna posthumously.
The 90th birthday of Mr Vajpayee was also celebrated by Kashmiri Pandit Conference under the leadership of its president Kundan Kashmiri. The KPC held a grand function today at Dwarika New Delhi and distributed sweets among the children. While paying tributes to Mr Vajpayee KPC leaders described him a great statesman, a visionary and a dynamic leader . They said had Mr Vajpayee given more time to rule the India could have progressed leaps and bounds.
