Srinagar, Dec 25: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir unit on Wednesday celebrated the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day.

The event reflected Vajpayee’s enduring legacy and commitment to transparent and accountable governance, a BJP statement said here today.
The commemoration began at BJP head office at Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar with party members paying floral tributes to former Prime Minister Vajpayee.
The leaders highlighted the contributions to India’s development by Vajpayee which emphasized his visionary initiatives, including the Golden Quadrilateral project, advancements in information technology, and efforts to strengthen India’s global standing.
“Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was a statesman whose leadership continues to inspire the nation and his dedication to good governance and development has set a benchmark for all of us,” the leaders said.
The event also featured discussions on the significance of Good Governance Day, underscoring the party’s commitment to uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and citizen-centric administration.
Members reiterated their resolve to work towards realizing Vajpayee’s vision of a prosperous and inclusive India.
As part of the celebrations, the BJP Kashmir unit announced a series of initiatives including outreach programs to engage with citizens, workshops on effective governance practices, and campaigns to raise awareness about government schemes and services.
The BJP remains steadfast in its commitment to the ideals espoused by Vajpayee and continues to strive towards building an India that embodies the principles of good governance, development, and inclusivity, the statement added.
