Discusses issues of public concern

JAMMU, June 13: In order to get the problems being faced by the general public of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir resolved at an earliest, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Core Group (CG) held an emergency meeting at party headquarters here, today and framed a six member High Powered Committee to take up them with the Government immediately.
During the meeting, number of burning issues confronting the people of J&K came up for the threadbare discussion. They include difficulties being faced by students due to allotment of examination centres outside Jammu and Kashmir for admission under CUET as the student community had apprehensions that they may not get admissions in colleges due to which their future could be in jeopardy.
In addition to it, other burning issues like difficulties being faced by the people regarding issuance of ration cards, new enrolments for pensions to various entitled groups, increasing unemployment problem faced by the youth in the UT, difficulties being faced by public because of power curtailment and erratic supply of water, issues with regard to inflated electric bills etc were threadbare discussed in the meeting.
Ravinder Raina, president, JK BJP chaired the meeting which was attended by other Core Group members including Ashok Koul, general secretary (Organization), Jugal Kishore Sharma Member Parliament, Dr Narinder Singh, national secretary BJP , Kavinder Gupta former Dy. Chief Minister, Vibodh Gupta, general secretary, Sat Sharma former president and ex Minister, Sham Lal Sharma ex Minister and party vice president, Sunil Sethi chief spokesperson, Girdhari Lal Raina, spokesperson and ex MLC, Abhinav Sharma spokesperson and Balwant Mankotia, ex MLA.
Core Group while discussing the issues, however, expressed its satisfaction that the students issue was taken up by the party president, Ravinder Raina with LG administration immediately to redress difficulties and apprehensions of students seeking admissions in professional colleges. The Core Group maintained that the issue got resolved because of timely intervention of the party and the student community heaved a sigh of relief.
For the settlement of other burning issues which have been cause of concern for the people of the UT, the Core Group formed a six member High Powered Committee to discuss them and take up them with Government for their resolution as per wishes of people without further delay.
The Committee, which has been framed in this regard will be headed by senior BJP leader and former DyCM, Kavinder Gupta. Its other members included Vibodh Gupta, Sat Sharma, Sham Lal Sharma, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Sunil Sethi and Abhinav Sharma. The Committee has been asked to immediately prepare report on all issues for taking them with administration for their settlement.
Addressing the meeting, BJP president, Ravinder Raina urged the Committee to meet without delay and take all measures to get these burning issues concerning public addressed at fast pace and on priority basis.
