BJP committed to rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley

JAMMU, Aug 12: BJP Kashmir Displaced District while highlighting the plight of the Kashmiri Pandits who became the worst victims of 27 year long turmoil in Valley after they were forced to leave their homes and hearths by separatists and agents of Pakistan today resolved to struggle for rehabilitation of the community in their homeland Kashmir with honour and dignity.
In a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president Chand Ji Bhat it was resolved that BJP is committed to restore their homeland to displaced Pandits leading an exiled life for last over 26 years outside the Valley.
It expressed serious concern over the propaganda launched by separatists on construction of colonies for Pandits in Valley and also lashed out at Congress in supporting the same. It said Congress as well as NC should clear its stand on rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley as in view of ongoing unrest and attack on Pandit colonies their rehabilitation is not possible in their original places.
The meeting also demanded that Pandits be given representation in Rajya Sabha so that they can plead their cause at national fora and highlight their plight at national level by countering those forces who for last 27 years were busy in launching a tirade against them.
The meeting also demanded that the Kashmiri Pandits should be basic party to any dialogue on Kashmir.
The meeting, while recalling the sacrifices of the community leaders and other members who laid down their lives during the militancy said that September 13 the martyrdom day of Tika Lal Taploo -the former vice president of the party will be celebrated in a befitting manner. The Party will also recall the sacrifices of all those KPs who laid down their lives during the turmoil.
