JAMMU, Dec 1: While seeking restoration of eight Assembly seats to the PoK DPs, SOS International, an organization of displaced persons from PoK today asked BJP, NC, PDP, Cong to clear their stand.
While interacting with media-persons here, Rajiv Chuni, chairman of the organisation reacted to the Chief Election Commissioner’s statements in which he has sought the reply of Government of India, J&K Government and Chief Electoral Officer about restoration of 8 Legislative Assembly seats out of 24 seats. He said that all the political parties of the State have made huge and tall claims of considering the issues of PoK DPs pertaining to them.
“All the parties have never provided the much required healing touch to wounded families of PoK DPs. BJP’s slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” seems farce as all the foul deeds of saffron party have been exposed and it is widely known that only Valley migrants ‘Vikas’ has taken place so far. In the year 2014, when BJP was about to contest in elections has mentioned in the manifesto that it will solve all the issues of PoK DPs once it would come to power but BJP neither acted as per the manifesto nor did it show any sympathy with the most destitute community.

He further said that the State Cabinet in the year 2014 approved a package for PoK DPs in which Rs 25 lakh, reservation to wards of PoK DPs in professional and technical colleges across the nation, employment package to unemployed youths and many more were incorporated. He said Congress that was the coalition partner of National Conference during approving the package of PoK DPs has never taken the cognizance of the package.
Referring to PDP, he said that PoK DPs had never kept any expectation from this party as former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syed and Mehbooba Mufti have never given the time during their tenure to apprise them with our demands. JKNPP claims the flag bearer of Dogra rights hasn’t cleared its stand on Jammu region. NC never bothered to provide justice to them.
This is the high time for these parties that claim the well wishers of PoK DPs must come to fore and express their stand over Chief Election Commissioner’s notices, he added.
