Modi Govt made no discrimination on basis of religion: Chugh, Sood

JAMMU, Jan 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has taken serious exception to the outbursts of National Conference leaders and accused the party of trying to polarise situation prior to coming Lok Sabha elections in J&K.
These views were expressed in a party Core Group and extended Core Group meeting by members from J&K here, today. The meeting was chaired by UT BJP president, Ravinder Raina while party national general secretary and incharge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chugh, Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh, party co incharge J&K, Ashish Sood and national secretary, Dr Narinder Singh also participated in the meeting which was held to discuss the poll strategy for upcoming Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May this year.
Sources said taking feedback from UT leaders of the party, it was pointed out by some senior party functionaries that NC is communalising the situation in the UT to polarise it prior to elections. However, the members were also of the view that ground situation is not favourable for the NC in Kashmir also and claims made by it are totally baseless, sources added.
They said party national leaders urged the senior party men of J&K to gear up fully and have a focus on area wise and ensure the registration of new voters and apprise them of the youth friendly policies of Narendra Modi Government.
The meeting also decided that a Committee will be framed to chalk out the strategy for the coming party programmes. The meeting was given to understand that the Viksit Bharat Sankalap Yatra which has a good public response all over the country will likely to be extended for the next month by Union Government to make contact as many people as can be, sources added.
They said it has also been decided that the ‘Gaon Chalo Abhiyan’ which the party has decided to launch after January 26 will simultaneously run with Viksit Bharat Yatra so that the message of Modi Government and party reaches more and more people.
Sources said, the party also decided the steps to be taken to increase the voter share in the UT and party cadre has been asked to give utmost preference to enrolment of new first time voters who attained age of 18 years after year 2019 and are going to cast their vote for the first time.
Besides, the meeting also chalked out strategy for nationwide programme to be addressed by PM Modi on January 25 for new voters and party has been asked to ensure that more and more new voters from the UT listen it.
Meanwhile, BJP in a handout issued by party chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi termed today’s meeting very significant and important.
The party said in marathon meeting an extensive and in depth discussions were held on various political issues and developments relevant and significant for upcoming election in Jammu and Kashmir for Parliament as well as Assembly. Various strategic positions were discussed and party formulated vast strategy to fight elections in the UT
BJP will put all its force in the elections to contribute to the dream of Prime Minister of forming Government at Centre at third consecutive term with improved number than last elections.
It said party is fortunate that it is led in elections by tallest leader not only of India but whole world who has put India in position of world leader by his untiring efforts and visionary politics. Elections being fought in Modi era have put party workers to elated position and leadership of JK BJP was called upon to remain focused on winning all seats.
Whereas party will strive to outperform itself compared to last elections in Jammu and Udhampur LS seats, it will convincingly win Rajouri-Poonch and Anantnag constituency with vast support being received by all segments of society.
It said party also drew strategy to win Parliamentary elections in Srinagar and Baramula LS constituencies as well given the developments in Kashmir post 2019 decision , improvement of security scenario , near normalcy, making lives of people safe and easy , new avenues for earning livelihood and significant improvement and increase of tourism, backbone of Kashmir economy.
Party said that time has come for people of Jammu and Kashmir to come out of dividing politics of NC , PDP and Congress which has misled and politically blackmailed people of the UT for their pity political gains. Time for people to stand with Narendra Modi and Bhartiya Janata Party and be part of national movement of development and well being ,said official handout.

Meanwhile talking to reporters, party national general secretary, Tarun Chugh said BJP will contest elections on basis of Narendra Modi Government performance. He said our Government gave houses to poor irrespective of their religion, region and caste. The peace was restored in J&K and there is progress and prosperity everywhere.
He said Modi Government won the war against poverty and this message should go to every house.
He also took a dig at NC for accusing BJP of playing a communal game and asked its leadership that give an example that during Ram temple construction the situation was communalised by his party in the country.
In comparison to that the NC Government and PDP were responsible for exodus of lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus, he added.
BJP Seh Prabhari, Ashish Sood also lambasting NC leadership said “We made no difference on the base of religion while giving benefit of houses for all, Ujwala, Ayushman Bharat and other welfare schemes”.
