JAMMU, Feb 8: Claiming that BJP has created a history by winning one Rajya Sabha seat for the first time, BJP State president Jugal Kishore Sharma expressed his gratitude to his Party, PDP and supporting MLAs for contributing in victory of party’s candidate Shamsher Singh Manhas in the RS poll here yesterday.
Sharma while talking to media persons along with Mr Manhas and BJP spokesperson, Sunil Sethi  said with the victory of Mr Manhas the voice of the State people, especially of Jammu province, will echo in a new perspective in the Rajya Sabha for the first time.
Jugal said that the BJP has created history by winning one Rajya Sabha seat for the first time in the political history of the State. It is indeed an achievement of the party, which has induced enthusiasm among the party leaders and the activists and their morale has gone more high now.
He said that BJP created history during 2014 Lok Sabha elections when it won three seats and now winning of one Rajya Sabha seat also is an indicator that the party is scaling new heights.
He assured the people of the State that newly elected representative of the party will work whole heartedly to raise the problems being faced by them in Rajya Sabha and focus on development and welfare. ” Despite Party’s efforts BJP could not win the second seat of Rajya Sabha and it is unfortunate”, said Jugal.
He however parried a question on Congress leaders apologizing on hanging of Afzal Guru saying no comment.
On the formation of a coalition Government with PDP in the State he said talks are on in this regard. “The  pros and cons regarding the alliance are being discussed and nothing will be done in a hurry” he added.
