JAMMU, Oct 15: Jammu and Kashmir State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has criticised the statement of former Chief Minister, Dr. Farooq Abdullah demanding holding of talks with Pakistan for peace in the region.
Such like statements at this crucial juncture when India is engaged in fighting Pakistan backed militants and separatists, is highly objectionable and not in the Interest of nation, BJP Chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi said in a statement issued here today.
Sethi said that these type of statements appearing periodically which are meant to create confusion and uncertainty are unfortunate and objectionable. He said that by making these statements the interest of separatists and Pakistan sponsored elements are being fed.
He further noted that while nationalistic forces are involved in countering onslaught of anti nationals and separatists and are holding flag of country and nationalism high , such statements are not standing with national mainstream. These elements who have always taken political benefits or otherwise from the country are now trying to cross the line of nationalism.
Sethi also said that it is high time for the people of State to understand the real motives of these elements and expose them completely so that only persons and parties with nationalistic attributes are given the opportunity to serve people. Public should show no tolerance to such persons electorally and should teach them lessons at appropriate time.
He further said that it is high time that all citizens of J&K should stand with resolve of the Central Government to tackle Pakistan and its supporters appropriately by showing no relaxation at the cost of national interest. He welcomed the hard steps being taken by Central Government and armed forces and said that the policy being adopted now will ensure lasting peace in the region.
