JAMMU, Feb 21: SOS International – an organization for PoK displaced persons has alleged that BJP has deceived the displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a large gathering of displaced persons at Maheshpura Chowk here today, Rajiv Chuni chairman of the organization strongly criticized the BJP for playing deceptive role while dealing with the package for the PoK DPs. He said that displaced persons had a lot of expectations from Prime Minister Modi but after announcing just Rs 2000 crore package for them instead of proposed Rs 9096 crores by previous State Cabinet of NC-Congress Coalition, it proved to be cruel joke with the DP families.
He pointed out that even the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) unanimously recommended package worth Rs 30 lakh per PoK DPs family as Committee felt Rs 25 lakhs per family was not enough. But, unfortunately BJP led Government at the Centre ignored both. BJP led Central Government neither cared for State Cabinet’s resolution nor JPC’s recommendations but on the contrary, it unilaterally announced a meager amount which has mounted the pain of PoK DPs.
This act of Central Government hasn’t only breached the privilege of both democratically elected bodies but also insulted the DPs. BJP won 25 seats from Jammu but it is working for Kashmir from where it has not opened its account. The Government is not concerned about PoK DPs for the last 7 decades. The DPs have been waiting for justice but it is denied every time, he stated.
SOS Intl leader further said that if Central Government hesitates to take decision within 30 days for the welfare of PoK DPs, then SOS International will be left with no option than to launch a decisive battle against BJP led Government.
