JAMMU, May 15: With the increasing return of stranded persons from various parts of the country, Arvind Gupta-BJP State Secretary who has been nominated as J&K incharge for quarantine centers visited some of the quarantine centres opened within Jammu district for tackling COVID-19 pandemic.
Gupta was accompanied by Ankush Gupta-District General secretary.
Gupta at one of the centre said, “Don’t panic over the Coronavirus and stay confident. Don’t think that all of you are patients. The government as a precautionary measure put you here. Within a few days, you will be sent to your home with full of health. But the persons at these centers should maintain discipline and social distance with others.”
Later, Gupta along with Tilak Gupta and Ankush Gupta met Atal Dulloo, Financial Commissioner-Health & Medical Education Department to apprise him of some of the problems being faced by the persons quarantined in the centers established by the Government at different places. Gupta brought the problem of COVID-19 testing schedule, lack of PPE kits at CD hospital and Govt. Hospital Sarwal and overall health related issues. He apprised the Financial commissioner that there are many persons who are awaiting their reports since 11th of May, thus keeping them in the quarantine centers.
“The doctors have been active round-the-clock in full capacity. They are not only deployed in the hospitals but also in containment zones and hotspots, quarantine centers, testing centers besides visiting home quarantined persons and doing their regular duties and emergency services. It is important to note that the risk to doctors is not just to that on-duty but also to their families, which include young children and aged parents,” he pointed out.
