He complimented the Meghalaya State Unit for having successfully organized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to Shillong which not only received wide appreciation, but was also a historic event in the sense that it was after nearly 40 years that any Prime Minister of India had visited Shillong to participate in the plenary meeting of North Eastern Council (NEC).

He urged upon the State BJP leaders to reach out to the people and make them aware of the priority with which the Modi Government had undertaken development activities in the State. He said, people in the State are increasingly moving closer to the BJP and they find their future prosperous with Narendra Modi as Prime Minister at the Centre.
While interacting with the State BJP leaders from Mizoram, Dr Jitendra Singh pointed out that it was the efforts of the DoNER Ministry under Modi Government that for the first time last year, a direct air flight from Delhi to Aizawl was introduced. He also referred to the initiatives taken with regard to the development of bamboo industry in the State. He said, a small State which was born just about three decades ago, has achieved commendable literacy rate of nearly 95% and can contribute significantly in the academic arena of the country.
