BJP demands one place settlement of Pandits in Valley, Commission to probe killings

JAMMU, Sept 13: Glowing tributes were paid to former vice president of State BJP Pt. Tika Lal Taploo on his 27th Martyrs Day here today. Besides, tributes were also paid to other martyrs and members of security forces who laid down their lives in fighting terrorism in the State over these years.
In this connection a function was organized by BJP Displaced District Kashmir which was attended by a large number of people drawn from different parts of Jammu. The function was chaired by Chand Ji Bhat, president Displaced District BJP.
A resolution was adopted unanimously demanding one place settlement of Pandits in Kashmir valley with honour and dignity besides constitution of a Inquiry Commission headed by a Supreme Court Judge to probe into the killings of members of minority Pandit Community in Valley during turmoil.
BJP State president & MLA Sat Sharma (C.A), who was the chief guest on the occasion, applauded the role of Amar Shaheed Tika Lal Taploo and termed him as a symbol of nationalism and the voice of the Kashmiri people. He said Mr Taploo never compromised on principles. In the demise of Tika Lal Taploo during early period of militancy in Kashmir, not only BJP but the entire nation has lost a person who was face of nationalism in the Kashmir valley, he added.
He assured the displaced community that BJP was always with them and today at this crucial junction when Kashmir is boiling there is the need of a leader like Tika Lal Taploo. He also supported the resolution passed by BJP Kashmir displaced district on the return of the community to the Valley adding that the BJP stands by its commitment for the dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits.
Sham Choudhary, Minister of PHE & Irrigation and Flood, who was the guest of honour in the programme, highlighted the contribution of Pt. Tika Lal Taploo among Kashmiri Pandits and BJP in particular. He also paid tribute to Pt. Premnath Bhat who was killed by terrorists in Anantnag and other martyrs.
MLC Surinder Ambardar paid tribute to Pt. Tika Lal Taploo, Premnath Bhat, martyrs of Wandahana, Chattisinghpura Nadimarg etc and supported the resolution related to return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley.
Chandji Bhat also paid tribute to Tika Lal Taploo, Pt. Premnath Bhat and other martyrs. He also supported the resolution passed in the programme.
The resolution was moved by Prof. M.K. Raina and it was seconded by secretary Ravinder Razdan.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by P.L. Dhar and J.L. Pandita.
Children from Vishwa Bharti School and Mahila Wing of BJP Kashmir Displaced District presented songs and Veena Gupta, district president BJP Mahila Morcha also joined them.
Dr Deepali Wattal, sung poem ‘may prajit pidi ka nahi, kyo mey apni haar maanta hoon’.
Laxmi Koul from Kashmiri Samaj of London also paid tributes to martyr.
