JAMMU, July 18: State BJP today demanded immediate resignation of Union Health & Family Welfare Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kathua-Udhampur MP, all the 8 Congress Legislators including three Ministers and 2 MLCs representing Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts on moral grounds for their failure to secure relief and compensation from State and Central Governments for the earthquake victims of Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
Addressing a press conference here today, BJP State general secretary Bali Bhagat and State spokesperson Lalit Moza charged that all the Congress Ministers and legislators belonging to these three districts were campaigning and praising Ghulam Nabi Azad in public meetings for sanctioning financial relief of Rs 334 crores for the earthquake victims in Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts.
They said that Gh. Nabi Azad in a public meeting at Bhaderwah, had promised that on the pattern of district Leh and Kupwara of J&K, erstwhile district Doda will be brought under the National School Safety Project (NSSP). He had advised people not to repair their damaged houses but suggested to reconstruct their houses by adopting earthquake resistant technology after getting the relief. Azad also had announced that more than 10,000 tents will be provided so that everyone will take shelter.
But later nothing was done as NC does not want Congress to get credit for the same and Congress wanted to hoodwink its coalition partner resulting in betrayal of people.
