JAMMU, Apr 6: Senior Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today alleged that BJP Government was diverting attention of the general masses from the real issues.
Addressing public meeting in Pargwal area of Chhamb Assembly constituency today, Tara Chand alleged that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are affected with the economic crisis and other issues. The BJP Government at the Center is misleading the public on the real issues to hide their failures. Due to BJP’s double standards, there is restlessness across the country.
Former DyCM called upon the public to get united and fight against the anti-people policies of the BJP Government. He said that due to the wrong policies of the Government, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are restless. Unemployment is at the peak, but it is unfortunate that the Government is not paying attention towards the problems of the people.
Taking on the BJP Government at the Centre, Tara Chand said that this Government is not the Government of the poor people but the Government of ‘Ambani–Adani’. The poor people have found it difficult to burn the stove in the house. Today, the price of the cylinder is Rs 900. The price of petrol diesel is also touching the sky, due to which the inflation is increasing and it has become difficult for the general public to survive.
Former Deputy Chief Minister said that due to the wrong policies of the Modi Government, today the economy has become weak, inflation is not being controlled. The banks were not merged at the time of Dr Manmohan Singh’s government of the Congress, yet the economy was strong. At that time the price of crude oil was high in the international market, and the price of petrol diesel was low, but today the petrol, diesel has reached beyond 100, which is directly impacting the goods of every need, Tara Chand said.
He reminded the BJP that the Prime Minister had promised the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the floor of the Parliament that he would return full statehood to the J&K, but the BJP has perhaps forgotten its promise with regard to statehood.
