BJP diverting public attention from price hike, falling rupee: Bhardwaj

BISHNAH, Sept 9: Senior Congress leader Mohinder Bhardwaj has said that the Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presenting a glaring model of “divide and rule” and has proved beyond any doubt that they are the true followers of this British legacy even in Independent India.
“What could be more sinister, reprehensible and condemnable than a self-professed patriotic political party and its “Desh Bhakt” leaders nakedly pursuing a British policy to divide the country on communal, caste, sub-caste and religion lines and that too, to divert attention from its governments, at the Centre and in majority of the states, failure on all fronts particularly to control prices,” Bhardwaj said while addressing a public meeting here on Sunday.
Cautioning the people to guard against the dangerous trend of the various ‘Sangh Parivar’ outfits including its political arm the BJP to pit various sections of the society to divert attention from core issues and to further their political existence, he wondered as to why the Modi Government was silent when petrol/diesel prices were increasing with impunity every day.
The Prime Minister’s silence and BJP spokespersons timidity to blame the previous Congress Government even for the rising prices of petroleum products and rupee devaluation only shows that the they neither have any clue nor control over the situation. “The country particularly Jammu and Kashmir, is standing at dangerous cross-roads, it is for everyone to see. It is ample testimony of the total failure of the BJP Governments and their policies,” he added.
Mr Bhardwaj appealed to the people to register strong protest and make the “Bharat Bandh” on Monday a success and deliver a strong message to the Modi regime to get ready for a pack up.
He said people residing in the rural areas need 24- hr power supply, construction and blacktopping of all roads in the Bishnah and Arnia tehsils, regular supply of water for irrigation purposes as the people of both the tehsils are farmers and dependent upon agricultural sector.
Ashok Dubey, senior Congress leader, GL Gandhi (Ex-Sarpanch), Dewan Chand Khajuria, Darshan Kumar, Ashok Gupta, Vidya Sagar, Puran Chand Khajuria, Vijay Kumar, Mohan Lal Gupta and others also spoke on the occasion.
