JAMMU, Oct 13: For the first time in the history of the State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is holding two days office bearers and State Executive meet in Srinagar on October 28 and 29.
The State Executive meet will be held on October 29 which will be preceded by office bearers meeting on October 28. This was stated by party general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh today.
He said BJP national general secretary incharge J&K ,Ram Madhav will attend the meet and State unit of the party wants that a senior Union Cabinet Minister should also participate in it. He said the State Unit has made a request to the High Command in this regard and proposed Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley or Union Surface Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari be deputed as a representative from the Party High Command.
To take the stock of the preparations and security measures, the Party senior leaders held a meeting at Srinagar under the leadership of Dr Singh. The Party has formed 13 committees for the smooth conduct of the meet. These Committees have been given different tasks to ensure hassle free movement and conduct of Executive meet, Singh said.
He said apart from top leadership from country, over 300 State Executive members will participate in the meet.
