KATHUA, July 26: Former minister and DCC president for Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today alleged that BJP stands exposed for exploitating religious sentiments of people for generating vote bank.
While attending religious and social functions during tour of different villages of Dhamal, Dhanni, Garnari, Paiya, Banuchak Dhalli, Lower & Upper Mela in Billawar Assembly constituemncy today, Manohal Lal lambasted BJP Government for playing with religious sentiments of the people by stopping Amarnath yatra consecutively for the second year in a row.
Dr Sharma said that even during peak militancy period in J&K, Amarnath yatra was never stopped as the previous Governments facilitated the yatra by proving all possible help but present BJP Government instead of facilitating the yatra by providing all possible help went for stopping the yatra. He said annual yatras of Shri Amarnath, Machail Mata, Budda Amarnath, Sukrala Devi should have been continued after following proper procedures and precautions as per Ministry of Health & WHO due to present pandemic.
During the meetings, people of different villages complained about the issues of long power cuts and drinking water shortage in the area. People said that during this scorching hot weather condictions, non availability of power is making their lives difficult as during nights also there are power cuts. The people also complained about price rise of essential commodities.
While speaking Dr Sharma said that present BJP regime in the country is termed as anti-people, anti-poor in the country. He said BJP has always indulged in doing politics over religion thus deviating the attention of masses from the burning issues of the country. He said BJP only works for crony class of country and is always busy in providing profits to Ambanis & Adanis on cost of middle class of the country. He said during the Corona pandemic period imposition of 18 % GST on hand sanitizer which is listed as essential commodity further exposes BJP stand for the country.
