JAMMU, July 18: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been exposed by ignoring farmers of the State especially of Marh assembly constituency.
This was stated by Ajay Sadhotra, senior leader J&K National Conference and Former Minister while talking to farmers of Marh assembly constituency.
“The farmers are facing lot of difficulties due to scarcity of irrigation water. Moreover, power shortage has also created hindrance in sowing paddy as farmers could not use irrigation pump sets”, he added.
Sadhotra alleged that BJP is befooling farmers by making tall claims and hollow slogans, adding that on the ground poor farmers are facing acute crisis of irrigation water and power. “Acute crisis of irrigation water and power has created unrest and anger among farmers against Governor’s Administration and BJP. There is no body to listen to the problems of farmers”, he stated, adding that a sense of insecurity has housed the minds and hearts of farmers.
Sadhotra has appealed to the Governor to intervene and ensure that the farmers get adequate irrigation water and power so that they can sow paddy in time. “If the situation continues like this, production of paddy will come down and farmers will face lot of problems as most of them are dependent on crop for their livelihood, studies of their children and other needs”, he added.
