KATHUA, Sept 26: Dogra Swabhiman Sangathan Party (DSSP) Chairman Choudhary Lal Singh today said that BJP has been exposed for its reluctance to hold elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
He stated this while addressing a gathering after concluding a bike rally he was leading in the town.
Singh voiced his concerns over the ongoing hardships faced by the people of Jammu Province, particularly since the abrogation of Article 370. He criticized the current regime for neglecting the popular sentiments and undermining Dogras’ interests.
He accused the regime of autocratic behavior and suppressing opposition voices. He questioned why Jammu couldn’t become an independent State when it met all the necessary requirements.
He emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is integral part of India due to Dogras’ sacrifices and contributions, yet the community now suffers greatly.
Singh lamented the dilution of cultural heritage and the influx of outsiders, which he considered a deep-rooted conspiracy. He highlighted the perceived discrimination against locals, who are being treated as second-class citizens.
Dr Hari Dutt Shishu, General Secretary, criticized the Government for diverting attention from essential public issues to emotive slogans, causing irreparable harm to the masses.
Rajinder Singh Bubby, President of the Municipal Council and senior DSSP leader, expressed commitment to improving Kathua’s status, pledging to make it the best town in the entire Jammu region if DSSP secured a full majority in the council.
Kanta Andotra, President of DSSP and former MLA, assured the public of her dedication to their cause and thanked them for their continued support.
