BJP failed to uplift women folk in 10 yrs of rule: Luthra

KISHTWAR, July 29: Former MLA and senior National Conference leader Bimla Luthra today alleged that BJP Government has failed to uplift women folk during its rule of ten years.
A significant meeting of National Conference women wing was held at Kishtwar, under the chairmanship of Indu Bala, District president women wing of Kishtwar. JKNC State vice president and former MLA Bimla Luthra was the chief guest and DDC Chairperson of Kishtwar, Pooja Thakur, guest of honour.
While speaking on the occasion, Indu Bala apprised senior party functionaries of the glaring absence of effective policies aimed at uplifting the women of Kishtwar district to most backward area of J&K. She highlighted that women in the region are deprived of basic amenities, a situation that demands urgent attention and action.
Bimla Luthra, in her address, strongly criticised the present dispensation for its failure to uplift the women folk. She stated that, apart from empty rhetoric, the BJP has done nothing substantial to improve the lives of women. She made a fervent appeal to women to come out in large number and actively participate in the democratic process to ensure their voices are heard and their issue bes addressed.
Highlighting the achievements of the National Conference, Luthra said, “NC has always been committed to the empowerment of women. Our party has a proud history of implementing policies and initiatives that have significantly improved the status and welfare of women in the region.”
The former MLA urged the women workers to take inspiration from the past successes and work towards a better future for the women of Kishtwar.
In a moment of national pride, Bimla Luthra also congratulated Indian shooter Manu Bhaker for bringing laurels to the country in the Olympics. She praised Manu’s dedication and hard work, viewing her success as an inspiration for all women in India.
DDC Chairperson Pooja Thakur expressed her concerns about the backwardness of Kishtwar and its rural areas, emphasizing the need for more funds to develop the area. She called on the women of Kishtwar to work hard and strengthen the Party at the grass roots level.
Senior members Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo District president Kishtwar, Tahir Masood DDC Palmar, Imtiaz Ahmed Zargar, Ikhlaq Butt District Youth president, Rajinder Sen vice president Kishtwar, Naseer Bagwan City president were also present.
