JAMMU, Aug 8: National Youth Congress general secretary, Uday Bhanu Chib today alleged that BJP has miserably failed to bring ‘Acche Din’ for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing public meeting at Nardani in Jammu North Assembly segment today Uday Chib said that the BJP Govt at the Centre has failed on all fronts and betrayed their electorate as a result the people of each and every section of the society are suffering and disappointed. He strongly criticised the BJP Government, accusing it of failing to deliver on its promise of “Acche Din.”
He highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir has emerged as one of the highest in unemployment and corruption rates under the BJP’s Governance. The downgrade of J&K from a State to a Union Territory, he argued, has only compounded the problems faced by the residents, stripping them of the benefits and autonomy that come with Statehood.
Chib called for the restoration of J&K’s Statehood before the upcoming Assembly elections, stressing that such a move would be a critical step towards addressing the region’s issues and fulfilling the aspirations of its people. He emphasized that the current Union Territory status has failed to bring the promised improvements and has instead led to greater discontent among the population.
The senior Congress leader appealed to the people to support Congress in the upcoming elections, adding that Congress is the only party that truly listens to the people’s concerns in J&K. He said that Congress party is fast emerging as the only choice of people because of its progressive policies, democratic and secular values.
Chib also interacted with local residents, listening to their concerns and grievances being faced by them in absence of elected Govt in J&K. The people of the area apprised the Congress leader about the lack of basic amenities, which has significantly impacted their quality of life.
The meeting was attended by several prominent persons of the area including, Som Nath, Jagdish Raj, Kamal Singh, Ashok Kumar, Sansar Chand, Gurmal Chouhan and others.
