New NC office opened at Surankote

POONCH, June 6: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president, Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that the party at the helm of affairs in New Delhi has miserably failed to do justice with the twin districts of Pir Panjal region.
While inaugurating the party’s new office in Surankote today, Dr Farooq said that the party will scuttle every attempt being made to divide the people of J&K on religious, and regional lines.
Stressing upon the role of people in protecting the age old ethos of J&K, particularly Pir Panjal region he said, “People have a role to play in keeping such forces at bay. They are pitching one community against another. Had they been sincere towards the upliftment of the Pir Panjal region, the ground situation with regards to roads, hospitals, water, electricity would have been different.
He said the situation on ground is deplorable. He said the twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri have been rescinded from the development radar of the government.
“Work on major roads, tunnel and tourism projects started by the previous NC led government has been stalled. People are hankering for day to day needs. Youth are at cross roads. Where is the massive turn around, which was promised to our brothers and sisters in Pir Panjal, Farooq asked.
Among others YNC president Jammu Aijaz Jan, Political advisor to President Mushtaq Guroo, senior leaders Asrar Khan, Mumtaz Bukhari, Taj Bajad, Riyaz Ahmed, Hamid Minhas, Zamir Qureshi, Hamid Rana ,Tahira, Bashir Malik and others were also present on the occasion.
