SUCHETGARH, Sept 27: Congress leader and District Development Council member from Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has claimed that fearing defeat in upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) elections in J&K BJP is postponing the polls.
He was talking to media persons after starting blacktopping work of Gujjar Basti to Beaspur Road in Suchetgarh constituency.
The Congress leader said: “The reason behind dillydallying tactics on ULB and Panchayat elections is not unrest or turmoil in the UT but fear of facing people after doing nothing on ground except unending rhetoric and bogus promises.”
Tony also interacted with local residents and listened to their concerns and assured them that he would actively pursue these issues with relevant authorities to ensure their speedy resolution.
He asked the locals to stand firmly against any attempts to undermine democracy and to align with Congress’ commitment of upholding democratic values that are essential for a just and equitable Jammu and Kashmir.
