JAMMU, Nov 20: The BJP Central Election Committee today announced two more candidates for the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP has named Nand Kishore Sharma, brother of sitting MP from Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Jugal Kishore Sharma, as its candidate from prestigious Nagrota Assembly constituency.
He will take on NC strongman Devender Singh Rana, Shivdev Singh (Congress), Rakesh Wazir (BSP) and Hussain Ali Wafa (PDP) among others.
Nagrota constituency will go to polls in last phase on December 20.
The BJP had earlier denied the ticket to Nand Kishore on the ground that it would sabotage the party campaign against dynastic rule of NC and PDP.
Jugal Kishore had won Nagrota seat twice in 2002 and 2008 defeating then NC leader and former Minister Ajatshatru Singh.
Ajatshatru, a sitting MLC, has now joined the BJP.
The BJP has fielded Riyaz Ahmad Mir from Pulwama seat.
Names of the candidates were announced by Jagat Prakash Nadda, Secretary of Central Election Committee of BJP and national general secretary. He is also Union Health Minister.
