BJP for augmentation of Ghagwal, Rajpora receiving stations

KATHUA, July 28: The senior BJP leader and former Vice Chairman, OBC Development Board, Rishpal Verma has expressed his serious concern over power crisis in Samba and Kathua districts and accused the authorities of not working on concrete policy to solve the same.
In a statement issued here, today Verma said one of the main problems in the border and Kandi belts of Kathua and Samba districts is that the authorities have failed to augment the receiving stations to add to their capacity so that they can cater to the requirement.
Verma said the main problem has been due to the failure of the authorities of PDD to augment the Ghagwal and Rajpora Receiving Stations and despite the issue taken by him during earlier district Board meetings and the assurance given by the authorities to do the needful nothing has been done till date with the result the people are suffering due to power crisis.
Verma said even the issue was taken by him with Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma during his visit to the area and he also made a round of the Receiving Stations also to have at and on spot study of the problem. Despite making a promise on the spot that the Receiving Stations will be augmented nothing was done in this regard.
Verma demanded immediate upgradation of two receiving stations in the area to solve the problems of the people. He has also made an appeal to Lt Governor, G C Murmu in this regard and sought his immediate intervention towards the issue to provide a succor to the people of the twin districts.
