JAMMU, July 29: While justifying one place settlement of the exiled Pandits in Kashmir Valley, BJP Displaced District today said that it can only guarantee a dignified living to these people being the citizens of India.
Talking to reporters here, today Chand Ji Bhat president Displaced District BJP demanded that the community should be provided all basic facilities and amenities at that place. He also demanded one time package should be announced for over-aged youth, traders and the orchardists.
Expressing anguish that despite the fact that PM’s package of 6000 jobs for displaced youth was announced way back in the year 2008 and till date only 1800 youths were recruited. He alleged that bureaucrats and other persons having their vested interests are creating hurdles in the way of the package.
He also demanded that the women employees already working in the Valley should be provided proper accommodations as many families have been staying in single room which is not right. He demanded that immediate steps be taken to construct more quarters for these employees at district headquarters.
He expressed concern over the encroachments of property of Pandits and their religious places and demanded that the same should be restored at an earliest.
He further demanded that a recruitment drive should be also launched for the community youth by the Central Government in the departments falling under it.
Vice president J L Pandita and general secretaries B B Gosani and P L Dhar were also present during press conference.
