KATHUA, July 9: Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, former Minister and PCC general secretary Dr Manohar Lal Sharma today convened a public meeting at village Amala of Kandi area of Billawar constituency, in which a large number of people from different walks of life, including senior citizens, party workers and youth, participated.
Dr Sharma, while addressing the meeting, alleged that the BJP Government had deliberately halted development of Kandi area and ignored the genuine demands of public pertaining to development of their area. He said that no single new work has been started by BJP Government in the Kandi area till date while the developmental work started by previous Government, have been halted.
Dr Sharma strongly accused the BJP Governments, both at Center and State, for anti-people and anti-youth policy since their formation. He pointed out the failure of the BJP Government in job creation and providing job opportunities to the educated unemployed youth who are waiting eagerly to get employed.
The Congress leader said that the wrong policies of the BJP Government were responsible for many fold price rise in all daily consumable commodities. “The BJP Government created history by imposing heavy tax on common men of the country who feel cheated by the BJP, which has further by burdened them with the taxes on every item.
Dr. Sharma said that it was very unfortunate that the BJP Government burdened every person of the country with heavy tax and gave no relief to the poor and people living below poverty line. He also accused the BJP of surrendering before PDP in recent GST amendment bill, passed by J and K Assembly and said that this has exposed the real face of BJP and its stand on Article 370.
On the occasion, the general public of the village Amala and Kandi area highlighted their grievances and accused BJP as well as DyCM, Dr Nirmal Singh of their anti-people approach. They further showed resentment over failure of water supply, electricity and bad condition of their link road namely Hamirpur to Amala road, Link road Dholoti, Amala circular road and Gurah Surjian.
