JAMMU, Dec 3: The District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) today held meeting at the party office, Shaheedi Chowk to discuss important organizational issues.
The meeting was presided over by JKPCC working president Raman Bhalla and attended by former Minister and vice president JKPCC Yogesh Sawhney, Ved Mahajan, Sewadal chief Vijay Sharma. The meeting was organized by new District Jammu Urban president Manmohan Singh.
Speaking on the occasion Raman Bhalla said that the BJP has lost the moral right to go to Jammu people after betrayal after betrayal. Former Minister took a dig at BJP over deceits and a failed Government in order to highlight the failures and performance of the Modi Government on various fronts, including economy, foreign policy, communal harmony, inflation, farmers’ income, national security, welfare for the Scheduled castes, Scheduled tribes, and other backward classes.
Bhalla alleged that nine years of BJP rule has made the J&K miserable. The people of J&K have only seen the scene of devastation in nine years. The BJP Government has thrown J&K to devastation. He said that deteriorating economic condition and rising unemployment have become the most pressing problems before the nation. Bhalla said it is time for us to stand in the name of humanity against ideas of divisiveness and nefarious designs of perpetuating identity-based hatred by destructive forces in order to save this nation. Anti-people policies of the Government have made the everyday life of common citizen miserable.
Sawhney said Jammu people are now realizing their mistake committed in 2014 and 2019 as these people who were sent by the voters to raise their voice remained unheard for nine long years. It is hoped that the people of Jammu will surely correct the past mistake and reject such opportunists and exploiters and show them their place in the future elections. It seems they have no time and commitment for the welfare of the people & country and that electioneering, not governance is a priority for the NDA Government at the Centre.
Manmohan Singh alleged that the ruling Government’s promise of ‘achche din’ (good days) was meant only for themselves or a selected group of industrialists and capitals whose wealth had increased. He said unemployment is high and has broken record of four decades while inflation is rising especially of essential commodities, petrol-diesel prices are historic high and rupee against dollar is historic low.
