SRINAGAR, Jan 23: Senior BJP leader Balwant Mankotia today said more and more people were joining BJP because of the good governance and pro-people policies of the Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre as well as party’s proven track record of fulfilling pre-poll commitments made by it with the countrymen.
Mankotia was addressing an impressive function held at Haqbore Hanjan in Bandipora district, where Hilal Wageh and his 200 supporters, including women, joined BJP and vowed to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking on the occasion, Mankotia as well as BJP Minority Morcha president Ranjodh Singh Nalwa said, “As more people continue to join BJP in Kashmir, we will ensure that the party performs excellently in the J&K polls.”
The function at Haqbore Hanjan was organized by the ‘Joining Committee’ as part of the BJP campaign to make the party truly a people’s party. “The joining by 200 people shows that support for BJP is growing in the UT of J&K by leaps & bounds,” Nalwa said, citing the immense support the party was getting from masses. He expressed the confidence that BJP would form Government in J&K on its own.
“The joining committee will continue to strengthen the party in the UT and follow the party programmes, fostering inclusivity and representing the diverse voices,” Nalwa said.
Mankotia said there was a marked difference in the functioning of BJP Government and that of other parties. “In BJP Government, people don’t have to approach officials to get their works done but officials themselves visit them to redress their grievances,” he asserted.
Among those present on the occasion included Minority Morcha general secretary Initiyaz Bhat, prabhari J&K Sheikh Bashir, vice-president Amarjit Singh, district president BJP Nasir Lone, spokesperson Mohammad Ashraf Rishi, and Gazanfar and minority morcha district president Bandipora Firdous Ahmad Wani.
