BJP holds various functions to celebrate 100th birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyay

JAMMU, Sept 25: Various functions were organised by Bharatiya Janata Party here today to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay former president Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS).
In this connection various functions were organised by the Party at various places in Jammu region.
BJP district Jammu West organized a number of programmes and functions at booth level in all wards of district Jammu West today to recall and recapitulate his rich legacy and ideology.
At district office Kachi Chawni, here BJP district president Ayodhya Gupta along with other leaders recalled his dedication and struggle for the upliftment of the people of the country and threw light on his life.
Ayodhya Gupta said that Pt. Deendayal Upadhayaya was an ardent nationalist philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist, and political activist. He was an iconic leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. A revered icon of Integral humanism, he was an ideologue and a guiding force for an alternative model of governance and politics. He conceived the political philosophy Integral Humanism -the guiding philosophy of the BJP.
Dr. Pardeep Mahotra explained the Integral Humanism concept which was advocated by Upadhyay Ji for the upliftment of the Society and Nation. Mohan Singh Rana, Jeet Angral and Vijay Sharma also put light on the works of the great personality. Jugal Kishore Gupta summed up the proceedings and Prem Gupta presented the vote of thanks.
A function was organised by BJP Talab Tillo Mandal vice president Keshav Chopra to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Jana Sangh president. The function was attended by several youths of Talab Tillo.
Keshav Chopra while throwing light on the life of Pt Deen Dayal Ji said he was a true patriot, a great philosopher, economist and political scientist.
Deendayal Upadhyay was a man of soaring idealism and had a tremendous capacity for organisation and he reflected different aspects of a social thinker. He was regarded as an ideal Swayamsevak of the RSS essentially because ‘his discourse reflected the pure thought-current of the Sangh. In 1951, when Shyama Prasad Mookerjee founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, Deendayal was seconded to the party by the RSS, tasked with moulding it into a genuine member of the Sangh Parivar. He was appointed as general secretary of its Uttar Pradesh branch, and later the all-India general secretary. Pt Deen Dayal have done a lot to uplift the poor people of society, Keshav further added.
A small movie on the life of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay was also shown to the gathering.
Another function was organised by BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal in which rich tributes were paid to this great leader and philosopher. MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion and a large number of party men attended the function.
The highlights of the programme was the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which he made while addressing the BJP National Council meet at Calicut Kerala yesterday.
Addressing the function, Rajesh Gupta said that the speech of Prime Minister has sent shivers down the spine of Pakistan which is sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir valley for last three decades and the brave security forces have given innumerable sacrifices for the protection of country. As a result of India’s astute diplomacy Pakistan stands totally exposed, he added. He also paid rich tributes to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayay.
The 100th birth anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Udadhayay was also celebrated by BJP’ Dansal Mandal today. A large number of Party activists from Dansal led by BJP leader Anil Sharma paid floral tributes to former president of Jana Sangh in which Mr Sharma recalled his selfless services to the nation. He termed Mr Upadhayay a great visionary.
The birth anniversary was also celebrated by Udhampur district Unit led by Rakesh Gupta its president.
The birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadayay was also celebrated at Kathua under the chairmanship of Party district president, Prem Nath Dogra.
A large number of BJP activists attended the function and paid floral tributes to late leader. Dr Narinder Singh, Indu Rekha, Chtter Singh, Ramesh Gupta, Vikas Kant, Rajan Mehta etc were present on the occasion.
In his address Dogra said BJP never compromised with principles and national integrity just for power and its leaders laid down their lives for the national cause from time to time.
