“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has forcefully raised concern against the terrorism in his speech in United Nations and also rightly called for united global fight against terrorism, which is the priority at this time but in case of Jammu and Kashmir, he ignored this priority and pushed BJP agenda for the narrow politics,” he said in a statement, issued here today
The NC leader claimed that if independent survey is conducted, still majority of the people are against the abrogation of the Article 370 and Article 35A in the State. “People are of the opinion that BJP ignored the priorities in the State and instead pushed its agenda for narrow political gains,” he alleged.
Stating that people of the State are facing lot of hardships in view of cross border terrorism and frequent cease fire violations, Sadhotra said it was expected that the BJP would rise above party and petty political gains and sensing the priorities in the State, shall avoid Abrogation of the Article 370 and Article 35A in order to restore peace in the State. “We say Nation first, then combating cross border terrorism and getting frequent cross border cease fire violations stopped should have been top agenda of the BJP Government,” he added and reminded that then Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government had rightly sensed first priority of vigorously combating cross border terrorism and insured cease fire on the border.
“People took sigh of relief and still remember Vajpayee Government because of its initiatives on these two fronts,” Sadhotra said and reiterated that combating cross border terrorism and getting rid of frequent cross border cease fire violations are imperative for lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
