JAMMU, Dec 15: Minister for PHE and Congress candidate from Akhnoor Sham Lal Sharma has alleged that BJP leaderships has ignored the sacrifices of Dr Shyama Parsad Mukherjee and Pt Prem Nath Dogra and is joining hands with the separatists for vested interests.
Making dig at BJP and its leadership, Sham Lal questioned their wisdom, and asked whether Jammu people lack claimant for next Head of State Government. He was reacting to BJP leader’s public statement on appointment of Hindu CM who stated, “religion and region is not important but the vision and personality of the candidate is important”.
Addressing election meetings in remote and hilly villages of Akhnoor at Thorni, Mayari, Balsaro, Makara, Salyote, Rah, Sai Gala, Hardo Malara, Chowki Choura and Basawa, Mr Sharma invited BJP leaders to see themselves, how the concept of development redefined by him during his 12 years tenures by providing road connectivity, electrification, education, health, drinking water supply and above all given administrative units such as Sub District Chowki Choura, Developmental Block, Niabat at Rah Salyote, Ghar Majoor and Kathar.
Mr Sharma said popular demand of Jammu is to seek justice for them and the other to fulfill their aspirations of Hindu Chief Minister. He rejected the BJP’s hijacked agenda of Hurriyat and NC who allegedly back tracked from their stand to damage as well as sabotage Jammu interests. He alleged that BJP has humiliated the wisdom, talent, intellects and competence of Jammu masses to escape from Hindu CM issue with suggestion Chief Minister’s appointment requisites include vision and personality, which politically mean Jammu does not have any visionary and personality to match BJP’s criteria of next CM.
He claimed that during Amarnath land row, he was first to support Jammu people and their struggle but BJP indulged in bargain and sabotaged Jammu people for vested interests and virtually damaged Jammu’s unity. His fight for Jammu continued as Cabinet Minister on each issue of Jammu concern. Jammu region got maximum new administrative units as he was member of that Cabinet Committee. PoJK refugees’ one time settlement got recommendation from Cabinet despite Kashmir based Ministers reservations.
