REASI, Nov 30: Seeking vote for her party in the Assembly elections to give it an absolute majority, Human Resource and Development Minister Smriti Irani today promised that if voted to power the BJP will install the Chief Minister from Jammu region.
Addressing election rallies here and at Ramnagar in Udhampur district to seek vote for party candidates, Ajay Nanda and R S Pathania respectively, Mrs Irani said that if voted to power BJP will install the Chief Minister from Jammu region.
Taking a dig at successive State Governments for neglecting State in the developmental sphere despite getting thousands of crores of rupees from Centre, she said that the condition of roads is worst and people are facing multiple problems in the State.
The Union Minister assured people that if BJP is voted to power, it will ensure massive development in the State and the developmental works which the successive State Governments could not undertake during last over 40 years will be undertaken in five years.
The BJP Government, besides infrastructure building will pay full attention in promotion of Tourism Trade and Industry in the State to make it an industrial hub.
While, highlighting the works done in last six months by Union Government led by Narendra Modi, she said that prices have been stabilized to a great extent and many new and public welfare schemes and projects have been taken up in hand. She appealed the people of both Ramnagar and Reasi constituencies to make their contribution in making BJP’s Mission 44+ a success.
Making a scathing attack on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, she said the CM went into hibernation for complete five days when floods created a havoc in the State during first week of September and it was the Prime Minister Narendra Modi who visited State next day to take stock of the situation and supervise rescue and relief measures.
Accusing the NC, PDP of looting the State, she appealed the people not to support the dynastic parties. Mrs Irani said all these three parties looted the State and country over the years and BJP will not let it happen now.
Without referring to BJP rival candidate who is contesting elections as an independent in Reasi Assembly segment, she said independents have no value in comparison to political parties. Mrs Irani also said the problems of Baridars will be settled as promised by Prime Minister himself during the poll rally at Udhampur on November 28.
At Ramnagar she without making any reference to NPP said that the role of small parties is over now and people should vote for largest party to make nation strong.
While making a pointed reference to opening of degree colleges at Majalta and Basantgarh besides uplifting of schools she said that the demands have been noted down by her but she can’t make any announcement during the elections in this regard.
On the demand of BJP candidate Ajay Nanda regarding opening of Central University in Reasi, she said the demands will be looked into and she can’t make any promise during the elections in this regard.
BJP leaders Col (retd) Uttam Singh, party secretary and candidate from Kishtwar Sunil Sharma and Ajay Nanda also addressed the rally at Reasi while Ramnagar rally besides Mrs Irani was also addressed by Party candidate R S Pathania.
