JAMMU, Nov 16: BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) under the leadership of Chand Jee Bhat district president called on District Development Commissioner (DDC) Jammu, Avny Lavasa and apprised her about the problems faced by the Kashmir displaced community.
A memorandum was also handed over to her.
She was further requested that after the killing of Puran Krishen Bhat at Choudry Gund, Shopian in Kashmir, the other 16 families residing in that village were shifted to Jammu due to insecurity and demanded that these families be registered as migrants at Jammu.
The delegation further apprised her that open air gym may be installed in camps such as Jagti, Purkhu, TRT Nagrota and Muthi, so that the inmates of these camps could be benefited especially children and youth.
The another point raised by the delegation that Central Government has initiated various welfare schemes for the citizens of the country, but these schemes have not been extended to these poor Kashmiri displaced community the reason best known to the administration. The delegation appealed the DC that these schemes be extended to the displaced community also.
The delegation further apprised the DC Jammu, that in camps there are number of over aged youth who are without jobs and are unable to do business due to lack of finances. Some officers of departments who are associated with employment generation programme, may be deputed to these camps to impart trainings and financial assistance to these over aged educated, less educated youth so that they can establish their own business as per their capabilities and may be able to feed their families.
The other members of the delegation were H.K.Razdan and Sanjay Bhat general secretaries, Vimal Raina district election in charge and P.K.Bhat BJP leader.
The DC assured the delegation that all their demands will be considered.
