KISHTWAR, Oct 11: Expressing serious concern over non payment of dues to job card holders of the Rural Development Department in Dachan block of Kishtwar district, BJP leader Ravi Kumar Thakur has urged the Government to look into the issue and transfer the amount in the account of job card holders immediately.
Addressing a meeting of the job card holders at Dachan today the BJP leader said that the officers of the block are unnecessary delaying the release of payment and flouting the Government orders in this regard which had made it binding on them to release the payment to the card holders within 15 days.
Thakur has also sought the intervention of Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha into the matter. He alleged that the block authorities have failed to take up the construction of lanes and drains in hand in the area despite the repeated pleas of the people and no attention is paid to the development of the area.
He said though the issue was taken up with ACD Kishtwar number of times by the job card holders and local leaders but to no avail which is generating a lot of resentment among the people.
Thakur also expressed serious concern over the delay in construction of Ikhala to Lopra Dachan PMGSY road on which work has been started long back. He demanded that the work on the road be intensified as the people of the area have no road link and they are put to problems during emergency.
