New Delhi, July, 9: Member of Parliament from Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal and MLC, Vikram Randhawa called on G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs in New Delhi and sought special attention to Ladakh and Jammu region in respect of any steps that Home Ministry is going to take in next five years.
During the meeting MP Ladakh complimented the Ministry of Home Affairs for opening of numbers of tourist routes recently. However, he brought to the notice of the Minister that there is a restriction that tourist can’t stay overnight in these areas and the restriction is not feasible as the distances, remoteness and accessibility of these location does not allow the tourist to visit these places and return the same day.
In this regards MP JTN has requested the Minister that the restriction in the areas be waived off in the interest of tourist development and providing livelihood opportunities to the local people of the rural Ladakh.
The BJP leaders also invited the Minister to visit Ladakh and Jammu to understand the ground realities and challenges faced by these two regions. The leader further requested the Minister for his special attention in recruitment of border resident youths in Central Paramilitary Forces, police and other sectors so that socio-economy of the area can equally be developed.
During the meeting the BJP leaders greeted the Minister and honored him with auspicious Khatag that brought from Ladakh and wished him for a very successful tenure under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi.
